Echography

Ultrasound is used to examine the fundus of the eye especially when there are dense cataracts, corneal opacities, or blood in the vitreous. Also tissues behind and around the globe can be tested. Using echography the presence and location of retinal detachment, the exact boundaries and the height of eye and orbit tumors and thickness of the muscle can be detected. This eye exam measures antero-posterior axis of the eye, which is a mandatory part of the formula for determining diopters of intraocular lens before surgery of cataract is made. In our clinic we use a combined ultrasound of the US Company Alcon, model Ocuscan and Compact Тouch B-scan 3 in 1 of the french company Quantel Medical.
