OCT (scanner) – Optical coherence tomography

OCT is a new, non-invasive, non-contact method for imaging of the retina in real time with extremely high resolution (resolution of 10 to 17 microns). Anatomical layers of the retina can be differentiated and thickness measured. This examination is very useful in some diagnosis: Diabetic retinopathy, Macular holes, Epiretinal membranes, Cystoid Macular Edema, Central Serous Chorioretinitis, Optic Nerve Damage in glaucoma and others. For OCT we use Optovue, model iVue.
